Flovac continues to strengthen its leadership in sustainable sanitation solutions, now with the successful deployment of its vacuum sewer system at one of southern Spain’s most strategic hubs: the South Pier of the Port of Huelva.

Site challenges and Flovac’s innovative solution

Stretching over 6 kilometers and facing high groundwater levels, the South Pier posed serious challenges for traditional sewer systems. Flovac upgrades the Port of Huelva with an efficient vacuum sewer system and environmentally friendly vacuum sewer solution, eliminating the need for deep excavation and large-scale construction.

The system relies on just two vacuum stations, efficiently servicing 27 discharge points, including industrial facilities and the passenger terminal.

Flovac’s vacuum sewer technology minimizes environmental disruption both during installation and operation. It delivers optimal wastewater management even in geotechnically difficult areas, making it an ideal solution for ports with high water tables or limited excavation options.
