Flovac returns to the Port of Valencia: a system that works, 20 years on

More than 20 years ago, the Port of Valencia hosted one of the most important nautical events in the world: the America’s Cup 2007. For that project, the former Valencia Consortium chose an innovative and efficient solution for wastewater management: Flovac’s vacuum sewer system.

It was one of the first major projects where our system was implemented, marking an important milestone both for the city and for Flovac.

A system that has proven its reliability over time

Two decades later, the system is still operating perfectly, with no structural issues, optimal performance and fully meeting the standards for which it was designed.

This not only confirms the robustness and durability of the Flovac system, but also proves that vacuum sewer technology is an ideal solution for ports and marinas, where technical, environmental and operational requirements are particularly demanding.

A new stage: modernisation of the equipment at Marina Port Valencia

Today, Marina Port Valencia, as the concession holder, has awarded Flovac the project for the modernisation of the existing system’s equipment.

The project includes the upgrade of three stations, incorporating technical and technological improvements to meet current operational needs, while preserving the core of a system that has demonstrated its effectiveness for more than 20 years.

Rather than a replacement, this is a modernisation of a fully functional infrastructure, ready to continue operating efficiently for many years to come.

A clear example of the value of the Flovac system in marinas and ports
